TiVO & the mighty HD!

I was recently talking a friend of mine via Twitter when it came up that his TiVO hasn’t worked since he went HD.  I don’t know why, but I can’t seem to get this out of my head, I keeps cropping back up.  Every time I see my TiVO, I wonder how I ever lived without it!  Of course, this brings up other issues, like if we ever get an HDTV we’re going to have to get a new TiVO and everything we have tapped will be lost.  I’ve been really wanting a Samsung HDTV, one of my girlfriends has one and I love it, but knowing that my TiVO won’t work with it really makes it easier to dismiss the idea all together.  Well, that and the fact that we can’t even come near to affording it, but that’s neither here nor there when compared to my precious TiVO being incompatible. Ha!

So, RIP poor little TiVO.  Good luck getting a new one that works with your HD, Shawn!

    That’s odd. We have an HD TV and some HD channels, and the TiVo we have works, it just won’t tape in HD. Since I pre-record everything to watch later, I miss out on HD but I don’t care that much.

    So what, his just refuses to tape now that he has an HD TV? Or the picture won’t show up on the TV? I can’t figure out how that would affect the TiVo.

    They do sell HD Tivo boxes now, I’m just too cheap to buy one. Picture quality doesn’t mean that much to me since I don’t watch that much TV.

    Yea,
    I have the series 1 TiVo with the lifetime service. I still have the series one just because of the lifetime service! The problem with it is the connections between the tivo and the TV. No way to hook it up!

    The good news is I called the cable company today and they are sending over one of their HD DVRs! So I should be back in business soon! Can’t wait to get ‘V’ and GhostHunter’s back on schedule!

    I just bought a spankin’ shiny new TiVo HD DVR! I’m sooo excited! It should be here on Thursday or Friday!
