TSTC

When I first moved to Texas, I went to TSTC in Waco.  TSTC is a trade school, with a lot of good AA & AS programs.  Anyway, my major was drafting.  I’ve always loved it, unfortunately, I suck at it.  I had a lot of trouble learning the scales (that is, I could learn to use the rulers to scale) and some of the courses required were just above my mathematical expertise.  I still wish, from time to time, that I’d stuck with that program, I really enjoyed it.

I didn’t stick, I dropped out.

A year later, I went back to TSTC, but with a different major.  I went back and majored in Advertising Design & Print.  It wasn’t for me, but rather than dropping out again, I changed my major to Computer Science, with a specialization in hardware.  That didn’t work out either, but not because I wasn’t interested, it didn’t work out because they require a course in Electrical & Electronics.  This class was damn hard.  We had to use a lot of really complex math to figure out current and the like.  We were also required to have a lot of electrical supplies like cables and fuses and the little thing to test to see if sockets are live. I could NOT pass this stupid class.

Needless to say, TSTC didn’t work out for me. So what’s my point? Sometimes, I wish it had.  I could really use a technical education with good earning potential right about now.  Then again, Matt has an associates degree in computer science with an emphasis on client server.  He’s never been able to do anything with it, so it just sits in our curio cabinet and looks pretty.

Aw, well, c’est la vie.
