Retold

I saw a book I want at Hastings Tuesday afternoon.  We went there to browse, we didn’t buy anything, but they have a book about Marilyn Monroe that I am dying to have!  It’s a beautiful black and pink book and on the cover, a beautiful picture of Marilyn.  I’ve been enamored with her for years, I think she’s just so beautiful and graceful.  She was what men wanted, not just because she was remarkably attractive, but also because she knew how to make herself an object of desire.  I have a collection of her films, I watch them as frequently as possible, but “Gentlemen Prefer Blonds” and “How to Marry a Millionaire” are my favorites.

No matter how many times I see “Gentlemen Prefer Blonds,” I never get tired of “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend.”  I love everything about Marilyn! but to be fair, I also love a lot of the old movie actresses of the 40′s and 50′s.  They all look so beautiful and graceful, and their screen presence was so feminine, but strong.  It never gets old, I just love them all, but Marilyn is my favorite!

I think I may ask for the book for Christmas, it’s inexpensive and I would love to have it.  Someone point Matt in this direction!

I have to say, I am absolutely amazed by what qualifies as a franchise!

Okay, backing up, a few days ago I came across a top franchises website.  I promptly ignored it.  Then, this morning, while browsing around, I came across it again!  Twice in two days.  I decided, what the hell, I’d look it over.  I’m not a believer in cosmic signs, or whatever, but this was an amusing coincidence.  Anyway, the site talks about franchises and tells you how much liquid capital you need to open one.  It’s amazing some of the businesses that pass as franchises.

UPS, did you know that was a franchise?

Most of them make perfect sense, a plethora of fast food and hair cutting places, hotels, tax services, things like that… but UPS?  Really?  I guess it is a business, I just didn’t realize it was franchise.

Maybe I should open a franchise?!  Nah, it’s not really my thing, but I did find the website really interesting, nonetheless.

One of my favorite things to do is look at photographer websites online.  I know, it sounds strange, and no, I’m not shopping for pictures.  I just low how beautiful photographer’s websites are now a days.  With everything accessible online, photographers seem to go the extra step to make sure their sites are remarkably beautiful.  Take Naples photographer, Jennifer Angeloro’s site.  It’s beautiful!!  The photographs are icing on an already pretty cake.  Makes me want to have pictures of Matt and myself made.  Too bad I’m not in Florida, she does amazing work!
